About Garrett's

Come see what Gary means by 'The Art of Food' at Garrett's. All your senses will thank you!

At Garrett's you'll discover the sophistication and savvy that comes from an experienced culinary artist. Our menus provide only a glimpse of the taste and texture that awaits you courtesy of Chef Garner's menu options.

As a chef with over 20 years experience, Gary has cultivated his own techniques for creating delicious meals in many of Montgomery’s finest eating establishments. At Garrett's, he is taking that knowledge and passion for cooking to the next level.

“The Art of Food represents how we can incorporate all your senses into a distinct dining experience,” Garner said. “It starts by making sure everything is freshly prepared with absolutely no shortcuts. From the meats to the sauces, everything has to be top of the line. The taste, the smells, and the appearance all combine to create a meal that is visually stunning and extraordinarily delectable.”

Gary keeps one or two classic entree's on the menu all the time, but most choices are varied seasonally, and various specials are always prepared from week to week. Some of the favorites that come back on occasion are the beef short ribs prepared osso bucco style with red wine sauce, and the seared pepper crusted Ahi Tuna.

But the food's not the only attraction at Garrett’s. The interior décor and style also provide a feast for the eyes. The Art Deco furnishings and subtle details give the restaurant a distinctly metropolitan and sophisticated feel, which is something completely different, both in atmosphere and in cuisine, for Montgomery. Whether one dines in one of the dining rooms or the breathtaking bar, Garrett’s will be a one-of-a-kind dining experience for you and your family.

Gary Garner, Chef and Owner of Garrett’s Restaurant, embraces a philosophy of cooking that involves all five senses. “You have to have the total package to create an incredible meal,” Garner says. “Of course, taste and flavor are the major concerns but appearance, aromas and textures are just as important.”

To achieve this in his dishes, Gary combines specialty dishes made with the freshest beef, lamb, fish and shell fish with fresh from the farm produce, and sets them off with sauces made daily in house especially for each dish. Topped with elegant, but simple garnishings, these magnificent dishes are enjoyed in a quiet, relaxing art deco atmosphere, and can be paired wtih carefully chosen wine selections to bring out the best flavors of each dish.
